Sierra Leone Action Mission (SLAM) has supported an orphanage in Kono, Sierra Leone since 2006. Because of its positive reputation, in 2020 the leaders and chiefs in an area adjacent to Koidu agreed to gift some land to SLAM in order to build its own school and orphanage to support the children in a more sustainable way. Thanks to our generous donors, SLAM completed the construction of a primary school in 2021 and an orphanage in 2024. In 2025, SLAM initiated a technical vocational training program at the school which included clearing land beside the orphanage to develop its own vegetable garden.
